The Impact You’ll Make

As the business development lead for service, you’ll expand Preventative Maintenance agreements, strengthen customer loyalty, and connect client needs with MIH’s mechanical and controls capabilities. Your work will accelerate sustainable growth and elevate customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients, facility managers, and executive decision-makers.
  • Win new and renewal Preventative Maintenance contracts with a consultative sales approach.
  • Develop, deliver, and close tailored proposals for Preventative Maintenance and aftermarket services.
  • Champion MIH’s service portfolio and mechanical solutions to prospective customers.
  • Diagnose customer requirements and craft customized service strategies.
  • Negotiate agreements, terms, and conditions with professionalism and integrity.
  • Create high-quality presentations and proposal packages.
  • Build a strong network within commercial and industrial markets.
  • Design and implement strategies for durable, long-term growth.
  • Evaluate HVAC equipment; coordinate with operations to estimate labor and materials accurately.
  • Manage key account activity and produce reliable sales forecasts.
  • Lead prospect meetings and on-site walk-throughs.
  • Work in lockstep with service managers, field technicians, and controls teams to ensure flawless delivery and customer satisfaction.
  • Report market trends, competitive insights, and opportunities to leadership promptly.
  • Serve as MIH’s ambassador at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Mentor junior sales professionals as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold MIH standards across all interactions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Experience & Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of sales experience with consistent goal attainment.
  • At least 15 years of industry experience.
  • Foundational knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and building automation (preferred).
  • Experience engaging executive stakeholders, property managers, and senior decision-makers.
  • Demonstrated strength in relationship building, negotiation, and closing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; confident presenter.
  • Strong prioritization and deadline management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Dynamics.
  • Analytical, technical, and strategic problem-solving skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail with a customer-first approach.
  • Independent self-starter who thrives in team settings.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record.
  • Relevant HVAC certifications or licenses (preferred).
  • Willingness to travel throughout New England.
