Sr Production Planner
Contract or Contract to Hire
Onsite Warren, MA
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of planning and materials management in a manufacturing environment
- ERP experience
- Comfortable getting out on the floor
- Strong communication skills
Preferred:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 10+ years of experience
Senior Production Planner
Principal Activities
- Plan, prepare and control production schedules and coordinate with Scheduling team to ensure a controlled flow of approved material times to meet production requirements.
- Evaluate material requirements to align production schedule to master schedule for to meet targeted completion dates
- Coordinate the efficient movement of materials with production, warehouse/logistics, and scheduling team.
- Responsible for scheduling and monitoring the movement of material through the production facility and will work on a wide variety of complex planning activities where material requirements.
- Ability to devise and augment spreadsheets to enhance planning’s ability to proactively
- communicate information with a sense of urgency.Advise management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems.
- Effectively communicate targeted completion dates and issues as they arise to appropriate team members.
- Evaluate and work with Production Management to level load schedules in accordance with capacity constraints.
- Identify and communicate areas of improvement for planning in the ERP system with team and management.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
- Delegate tasks and provide guidance to Expeditors and other appropriate personnel.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Plan project timeliness and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Develop and deliver progress reports on production status.
- Proactively manage changes in production completion dates, identify potential issues, and devise contingency plans to meet completion dates.
- Minimize exposure and risk on the project.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Intermediate spreadsheet and numerical analysis skills.
- Ability to exercise tact and good interpersonal skills.
- Ability to be pro-active with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to read, understand and communicate technical documentation.
- A self-starter, a highly motivated person able to work in a fast paced environment that is continually changing.
- Proficiency with ERP systems required, preferably in a projectized MRP system.
- U.S. citizen.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor degree in Supply Chain, Business or Accounting preferred, High School Diploma is required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Planning and materials management in a manufacturing environment required, 10 years preferred.
