The Inside Sales Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Customer Support and Call Center teams to ensure exceptional service delivery, efficient order management, and a positive customer experience. This position manages staff, systems, and processes to drive continuous improvement in responsiveness, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Follow all safety procedures and always work in a safe manner.
2. Oversee all inbound and outbound customer communications including phone, email, and web
inquiries.
3. Manage the daily operations of the Customer Support and Call Center teams to ensure timely and
professional handling of customer requests, orders, and complaints.
4. Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to service quality, call handling, order
accuracy, and response time.
5. Implement call center standards, scripts, and training to ensure consistent and high-quality customer
interactions.
6. Collaborate with Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to resolve order fulfillment issues,
backorders, and product availability concerns.
7. Utilize CRM and call management systems to track performance, identify trends, and recommend
improvements.
8. Recruit, train, coach, and evaluate team members to foster a high-performance, customer-focused
culture.
9. Maintain knowledge of company products, pricing, and policies to support customer needs.
10. Identify opportunities to improve processes, technology, and workflow efficiency.
11. Handle escalated customer issues and ensure appropriate and timely resolution.
12. Prepare regular reports and analyses for leadership, including performance metrics, customer
feedback, and improvement initiatives.
Job Requirements:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, or related field preferred;
equivalent experience may be considered.
Experience: 5+ years of experience managing a customer service or call center operation, preferably in a manufacturing or distribution environment. Proven leadership and people management skills with experience leading teams of 10 or more. Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Proficient in CRM systems, call center software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions. Demonstrated ability to balance customer satisfaction with business objectives.
