JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE:
Courier/Driver
POSITION SUMMARY:
Delivers interoffice mail and supplies between multiple work sites; transport patients to scheduled appointments related to their care.
REPORTS TO:
Director of Patient Services
FLSA STATUS:
Part-Time, Non-Exempt
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Drive, load and unload van.
- Drive scheduled pickup and delivery route and additional locations as needed.
- Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures and abide by CHCFC policies pertaining to proper vehicle operation.
- Inspect van and van equipment, such as mirrors, lights, gas gauge, temperature gauge, tires, turn signals and brakes in order to ensure the vehicle is in proper working condition.
- Ensure the van has adequate gasoline and is cleaned and routinely washed.
- Report any mechanical problems encountered with the van to Director of Patient Services or designee.
- Use professional communication methods and techniques to include maintaining positive and professional language and demeanor.
- Accurately document mileage and any related expenses pertaining to vehicle use.
- Monitor annual inspection and registration renewals and notify supervisor at least two weeks in advance of expiration.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Licenses Required: Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Skills:
- Ability to work independentlyand make autonomous decisions.
- Ability to drive daily on established routes and follow established laws and safe driving procedures and practices.
- Excellent oral communications skills for the purposes of conveying information and instructing other while maintaining a strong customer service focus.
- Display professional business attitude with a pleasant demeanor while working in a customer service oriented organization.
- Incorporates CHCFC values, principles and mission statement into daily activities

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision requirements of this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. The work may require some evening work hours as well as the ability to adjust work schedule to accommodate periods of extreme activity.
