The Shipping Supervisor at Metfab Engineering, Inc. is responsible for coordinating and executing delivery schedules for all outgoing shipments, including those routed to outside suppliers. This role determines shipping methods, ensures accurate documentation, oversees packing activities, and maintains inventory readiness. The Shipping Supervisor also supports truck maintenance and serves as a backup driver when needed, ensuring all shipping operations run efficiently, safely, and in compliance with customer and internal requirements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist and supervise packers to ensure part identification, packing codes, and documentation accurately match prints and customer or outside supplier requirements.
Supervise and participate in packing activities as needed.
Verify that products have passed inspection and submit packing list request forms to the job shop administrator.
Maintain an updated finished parts inventory list, ensuring all items are clean, protected, labeled, and ready for delivery or storage.
Oversee truck maintenance, driver duties, and scheduling.
Coordinate outside supplier work, including pickup, delivery, common carrier arrangements, and customer communication.
Maintain materials, supplies, and equipment necessary to support all shipping functions.
Ensure the shipping area remains organized, clean, and compliant with safety standards.
Process and complete all required documentation supporting the Quality Management System.
Willingness to drive with a DOT medical card as a backup driver.
Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Demands:
Work conditions are consistent with a metal fabrication production environment. Some lifting up to 50 lbs. may be required. Safety equipment is mandatory. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of various shipping methods.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to read and write in English.
Knowledge of general math.
Must meet Federal and State minimum age requirements.
