A hands-on position with a Seacoast based medical manufacturer executing and coordinating the day-to-day maintenance and repair of operational equipment, manufacturing machinery, tooling and facilities-both building and grounds. This person also oversees contractors/staff that install, inspect, repairs, and maintains building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety in accordance policies and procedures. Position supports manufacturing operations daily to ensure uptime and safety. Works in conjunction with Safety Team to promote and execute plant safety. Lead on plant closure and re-opening in case of emergencies or unplanned plant events.
Essential Job Functions/Key Accountabilities:
· Manage 5 points to manufacturing maintenance systems; Break Fix, Lockout/Tagout, Parts Inventory, Tooling Inventory, and Planned and unplanned maintenance.
· Monitor and maintain Preventive Maintenance Program. Ensure routine and shutdown PM tasks are documented. Monitor the completion of PM's for quality of work. Modify task instructions and PM schedules as necessary to maintain equipment condition and the efficiency of the work performed.
- Analyze machinery/equipment failures patterns and trends to forecast maintenance schedule to limit failures and production downtime. Recommend strategic corrective measures and ensure corrective actions to address deficiencies and drive continuous improvement.
- Partner with contractors and manufacturing team to implement machine improvements to ensure safety and efficiency gains.
- Lead troubleshooting on equipment and machinery resolving issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure a consistent supply of tooling and machinery spare parts are ordered; monitor and control usage of tooling and spare parts and maintain proactive focus to ensure machinery downtime is minimized.
- Responsible for monitoring and controlling all maintenance documents and records as part of ISO 9001 and company QMS.
- Proactively maintain the facility and grounds with approved suppliers and service providers.
- Provides oversight for facility projects and contractors during scheduled work hours and plant shutdowns; available to offer support during off shift hours and holidays.
- Lead and manage 5S initiatives for facility and plant operations.
- Maintain a safe work environment and lead role in plant safety; communicate issues and take corrective action when safety issues arise. Execute and maintain safety procedures to minimize accidents and company liability, monitor, audit and document safety program compliance and employee awareness.
- Create and manage related work instruction documents and safety procedures
- Must be able to work on several projects at a time to meet the needs of a rapidly changing environment.
Critical Skills:
· Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
· Must be mechanically HANDS-ON and be willing to work on the floor.
· Working knowledge of CAD systems, CAD/CAM software and Microsoft office.
· Must have an exceptionally good technical foundation to understand manufacturing processes, materials, and tooling.
· Ability to synthesize information real time and troubleshoot accordingly.
· Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and attention to detail.
· Task oriented, Strong analytical skills and well organized.
· Strong interpersonal, excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the Organization.
· Demonstrate ability and desire to be the go-to lead in plant operation and take full ownership of plant functions.
· Team player in support of Engineering, Manufacturing and Quality.
· Exceptional time management and planning abilities.
· Expertise with root cause analysis, corrective action and continuous improvement methodology.

Hard Skills
- Mechanical Attitude and Machinery Trouble Shooting

- Solid understanding of predictive and preventive maintenance tools
- Solid computer skills with working knowledge of CAD, MS Office, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems

Experience and Education
· Plastic Processing Experience Preferred -Extrusion, Blow Molding, or Injection Molding
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in related manufacturing or industrial field
- Engineering degree and/or equivalent experience in a related field in support of engineering and/or manufacturing systems
- Hands on Electrical and Mechanical experience in a manufacturing or plant process environment.
- Demonstrated experience working with HVAC, building systems, plumbing, electrical, etc.
- ISO 9001 and/or ISO 13485 Knowledge a plus
Other Requirements
- Availability on scheduled monthly weekends/or off shifts as PM’s dictate
- Availability to lead scheduled plant shutdowns (2 per year)
- Required to lead safety team on closing, reopening in event of unplanned events and emergencies.
- Capable of lifting 50 lbs. and ability to work on hard surfaces
- Ability to physically work on equipment and processes on the plant floor
Compensation and Benefits
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000 – 100,000 a year based on experience and company bonus.
