About the position:
The Process Technician III is responsible for performing day-to-day chemical/fabrication processes in a research lab environment. They will organize and maintain the parts inventory, fabricate minor assemblies, and provide basic guidance regarding component use to others. They will also contribute to the completion of and data-gathering related to chemical batch execution. With high attention to detail, the ideal candidate should exhibit strong problem solving and communication skills, as well as have a team player mentality, and strong awareness of safety guidelines.
Job Responsibilities
- Execute various batch processes within the benchtop research arena
- Handle specific chemical materials in accordance with proper safety guidelines
- Accurately execute batch run sheets in a safe and efficient manner in conjunction with research scientists and engineers
- Interface with electronic and process equipment to perform the various operations within the lab and facilities environment
- Participate and engage in all aspects of the Technician Certification Program
- Don appropriate process Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including but not limited to fire resistant clothing, steel toed shoes, nitrile gloves, and respirator
- Work collaboratively in a team-based operation requiring cooperative co-worker engagement
Shift is Wednesday to Saturday 6:00am to 4:30pm
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with 6 months to 2 years of work experience
- Computer literate and familiar with Microsoft Office suite
- Fine motor skills to accommodate accurate material compounding and delicate lab equipment
- Self-motivated, as well as flexible and versatile to adapt to changes
- Ability to multitask with precision and attention to detail
- Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Able to read, write, and speak English
- Able to lift and maneuver objects weighing < 48 pounds
- Able to remain in a stationary position for the majority of a 10 hour workday
Preferences
- Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- Previous knowledge of safety practices and OSHA requirements
- Waste water processing experience
- Experience with ISO-9001 and GMP guidelines
