Job Descriptions:
Our Clent located in Plaistow; NH is currently seeking:
Machine Operators for 2nd & 3rd Shift.
Packers on 2nd/3rd Shift.
The Operator is responsible for, but not limited to disassembly, cleaning and assembly of extrusion lines. An Operator may also be involved with starting up and the operation of a production line. This position will require an individual to have a combination of technical experience, interpersonal skills and have the ability to solve practical problems. The Operator more specifically is responsible for the following duties:
· Read and understand all production paperwork.
· Work independently on assigned projects.
· Work in and around extruders, hoppers, loaders and all other pertinent equipment.
· Assemble and disassemble extrusion lines in accordance with the Scandia Plastics Extrusion Training Manual and the Production Set up Sheet.
· Ensure operation of equipment by evaluation and recommending repairs to the Production Supervisor and to maintenance by the means of using a repair tag.
· Understand how to use the Material Inventory and is proficient with material mixing.
· Maintain a clean, safe work area.
· Maintain compliance with the Company policies, procedures and safety programs.
· May be required to serve as a Production Supervisor whenever the current Production Supervisor and/or Assistant Supervisor are not available.
Qualifications:
· High School diploma or equivalent is required; or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Must be able to verbally communicate effectively.
· Excellent interpersonal skills.
· Have a working knowledge and be able to perform production functions that include extrusion line operation, extruder set up and quality control when necessary.
· Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment, which can be subjected to numerous schedule and priority changes and short notice activity.
· Familiar with Q.C. instrumentation and reading prints.
· Possess mechanical ability.
· Understand and perform written and oral instruction.
· Must have basic reading, writing and arithmetic skills.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to occasionally lift up to 55 lbs. as needed.
· Must have good hand eye coordination and physically be able to keep up with the workload.
· Perform periods of standing, bending, carrying, stooping and moving within the production area for complete shifts.
· Specific vision abilities required by the position include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Packer Job Description:
Easy entry level work:
Read and comprehend S.O. folders, ensuring product is correct per S.O. instruction – dimensions, configuration, bow in tolerance, and acceptable surface appearance.
Accurately use calipers, protractors and other measuring devices to inspect parts.
Moves scrap and re-grind material accurately.
Finished goods packaging in the warehouse.
Ensure finished goods are properly labelled, tagged and transferred to the warehouse on correct pallets.
Packaging and Material areas are clean and organized, all garbage is emptied.
Wears required personal protective equipment (PPE) during the entire shift, to include safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, and safety footwear, etc.
Ensure effective communication with Operators and Leads within current and next shift.
