PRIMARY ROLE

The Account Executive plays a leading role in the development of new business relationships and the maintenance of existing relationships for High Output, with a prominent emphasis on identifying and pursuing potential new leads and opportunities. The Account Executive is responsible for managing client relationships, overseeing bid management, and working closely with High Output’s creative and production teams to ensure the delivery of exceptional client experiences. This position has a direct impact on the success of High Output through working with clients to understand their needs and helping them find effective creative solutions. A key responsibility of the Account Executive is to provide creative design and budgetary guidance to ensure success for both the client and High Output.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Execute on business development and sales strategies that will achieve the business plan of the High Output events division.
  • Drive implementation of strategic growth initiatives established by the Chief Revenue Officer and the General Manager.
  • Collaborate with business development and sales management on opportunities to meet with key clients, deliver sales presentations, further develop relationships, and negotiate to close deals.
  • Generate business opportunities by identifying prospects, researching and analyzing sales compatibility and strategies and provide creative solutions.
  • Arrange meetings and site visits with potential & existing clients to discover needs and project requirements.
  • Partner with potential & existing clients to understand their needs and assist them in developing their goals while aligning them with our capabilities.
  • Effectively collaborate with internal & external teams to creatively, accurately, and quickly respond with comprehensive proposals.
  • Regular local and periodic national travel will be required to client sites, event venues, networking events, training seminars, and event planning conferences. Such travel will be at the discretion and approval of the General Manager.

Prepare and deliver outstanding event proposals that:

  • Follow established pricing protocols, production procedures, rental shop procedures and dispatch policies.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with both clients and High Output team members.
  • Effectively negotiate, overcome objections, and close deals with potential and existing clients.
  • Promptly and fairly manage client complaints while respecting the interests of all parties.
  • Document account activity, preparing and submitting weekly activity reports, lead sheets, and sales projections.
  • Represent High Output at conferences, trade association meetings, and industry events to promote High Output’s capabilities, conduct market/competitive analysis, develop strategic insights, evaluate overall competitive position, and maintain & develop client & vendor relationships.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in event industry or equivalent experience in creative agency, technical production, or allied sales.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, preferably with an emphasis in business, marketing, event management, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience in event design with excellent understanding of AV and lighting technologies.
  • Must be able to professionally interact and communicate with individuals at all levels within various types of organizations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Clear inclination toward customer service (internal and external).
  • Demonstrable consultative selling and influencing skills.
  • Project management experience, especially in the events industry.
  • Knowledge of the sales process, client relationship management, contractor management, labor relations, bid processing, and job costing skills.
  • Outstanding computer skills required, including use of standard Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of rental and project management software a plus. Experience with CAD (ideally Vectorworks) is desirable.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work independently, and be self-motivated.
