Job DescriptionAbout the role:

As a CNC Machine Shop Programmer, you will develop and implement machine programs to be run on large CNC machines on the manufacturing floor. You will lead efforts, working with both engineering and machinists to develop processes and tooling needed to perform complex machining activities. This includes the development of all fixturing and tool paths needed to perform the work. This level programmer works on a variety of machine center types, sizes and technology and mentors less experienced programming personnel.

You will report to the Manufacturing Manager and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this role 100% onsite.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development and installation of machining programs for CNC style machining centers
  • Development and procurement of required tooling to support each CNC program
  • Develop tooling list to in the process
  • Knowledge of machining center capabilities to allow correct selection of machine assignment to minimize cost, balance between set up and run time durations
  • Responsible for determining the machine center to use and working with the scheduler/planner to assign it for schedule tracking.
  • Capability/expertise to program and process complex machining work on a wide group of machine styles at the plant
  • Have expertise in all types of machining centers at the plant and recognized as the subject matter expert for programming functions
  • Skill in working with and communicating with all levels of employees at the plant
  • Discuss complex technical concepts with both machine shop personnel and engineering teams
  • To ensure understanding of management goals and milestones
  • Lead and mentors junior level CNC programmers. Recommend training needed and new processes/technology to improve and increase efficiency for the programming team
  • Improve process times for machining using lessons learned and implementing for each job
  • Discuss technical concepts with both salaried and hourly employees

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 8 years in CNC style machine programming or 3 years with 5 additional years of machinist experience
  • Machine center expertise, GD&T expertise, knowledge of tooling capabilities and engineering terminology and concepts.
