Job Summary:
This position is ideal for the new trail builder. An individual that is passionate about mountain biking and being outside. Having some experience building trails is a plus, but it is definitely not a requirement for this position. The perfect candidate is someone who is eager to learn, follows instructions well and takes pride in their work.
Essential responsibilities:
- Maintain mountain bike trails ranging from green up to pro-level.
- Construction of new trails under the direction of the head trail builder.
- Maintenance of the drainage system.
- Clean up tasks on the parts of the resort near the trail.
- Keep track and take care of assigned hand tools.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience with power tools (weedwacker, chainsaw, etc..) is a bonus but not required.
- Experience with trail building hand tools is a bonus but not required.
Core Competencies:
- Team player.
- Receive constructive criticism.
- Work with minimal supervision.
- Prioritize tasks based on a given timeline.
Physical Requirements:
- This job is extremely physically demanding.
- Work and hike on uneven terrain.
- Lift 50lbs repetitively.
- Comfortable in all weather conditions including rain and snow.
- Able to stand, bend, climb, lift, kneel, reach & push repetitively.
Shift Requirements:
- Approximately 40 hours per week.
Mon - Thurs 8:00am - 6:30pm
- There may be overtime or weekend work available at certain times.
- Employment is broken down as follows and is subject to change based on the needs of the bike park:
Opening season: April 6th (weather permitting) - July 2nd
- Must be at least 15 years of age or older. Must provide a valid work permit if under 18.
