Job Description
Job Description Industrial Sales & Operations Liaison (CNC Machining)
Location: Lowell, Massachusetts
Reports To: Production / Sales Management (Tony / Steve)
Date: January 2025 (Revised)
About Axis Technologies
Since 1987, Axis Technologies, Inc. has delivered world‑class precision machined parts and sub‑assemblies from our Lowell, MA facility. We specialize in close‑tolerance CNC work across metals, plastics, and ceramics, with notable expertise in waveguides and complex assemblies for demanding markets.
A Day in the Role
Start your morning reviewing open order reports and updates from production meetings. Move into calls with customers to confirm schedules and align expectations. Switch gears to analyze a new drawing: you apply ASME Y14.5 GD&T and DFM principles to suggest a tweak that improves machinability and cost. After lunch, you log into Paperless Parts to advance RFQs, issue a purchase order to a subcontractor, and sync with suppliers on lead times. You close the day in Vista, updating order status and collaborating with managers to match sales commitments to capacity.
Core Impact Areas
- Sales & Customer Management: Prospect, negotiate, and close B2B machining orders; communicate proactively and maintain long‑term relationships; provide status updates via open order reports and production insights.
- Technical & DFM: Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T to ASME Y14.5; recommend DFM changes that enhance quality, reduce cost, and improve machinability; author clear work instructions and job travelers.
- Quoting & Supply Chain: Prepare and submit RFQs to suppliers/subcontractors; serve as trained backup to primary quoters (Tony/Steve), including vacation and peak‑load coverage; maintain RFQs in Paperless Parts and leverage metrics to improve accuracy, speed, and win rates; issue purchase orders and coordinate status with suppliers.
- ERP, Systems & Collaboration: Use Vista ERP for order entry, tracking, and production support; apply Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams, SharePoint) for communication and document control; partner with production managers to align bookings with capacity; take on additional tasks that drive growth and efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in manufacturing (machining preferred; 10+ a strong plus).
- Proven success prospecting, negotiating, and closing in industrial B2B.

- Demonstrated DFM capability for CNC‑machined components.
- Hands‑on ERP experience (Vista preferred) and readiness to learn our systems.
