Operations, Marketing, and Bookkeeping Coordinator
Job Description
The Pioneer Valley Symphony Orchestra (PVSO) is seeking a highly organized, versatile, and proactive individual to manage our guest artist relations, front-of-house (FOH) event operations, promotional marketing design initiatives, and internal recordkeeping. Under the supervision of the Board President, this role serves as the functional backbone of our organization—handling everything from initial soloist contracting and routine bookkeeping to designing digital/print promotional assets and executing smooth box office operations on performance nights.

The ideal candidate is a disciplined self-starter, with sharp administrative capabilities (preferably in the arts), creative graphic design skills, financial integrity, and a warm, hospitable demeanor for interacting with donors, corporate sponsors, and visiting artists.

Qualifications & Professional Skills: 2–4 years of experience balancing roles in arts administration, nonprofit operations, event coordination; Proficiency with MailChimp (or related email campaign managers), CRM systems, or box office/ticketing platforms; Proficiency with Google docs and Google sheets; Graphic design capabilities with proficiency in design platforms (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite); Proficiency with bookkeeping principles and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or equiv.) desired, but training available.

Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and safely transport heavy or awkward event equipment (including bulk storage bins and poster easels) and open availability to work extended hours on concert dates.

Compensation, Benefits and Application Process
\n
Pricing/Compensation: up $25 per hour for overall average 28 hrs/ week during season (September 1-May 31), with approximately seven weeks annually of full-time hours, complemented by a schedule of reduced hours between concerts and twelve weeks off in summer. A significant portion of regular duties may be performed remotely.
