Job Description

Job DescriptionDescription:

Catholic Charities New Hampshire (CCNH) is one of the state’s largest and most trusted social services organizations, supporting individuals and families facing poverty, homelessness, mental health challenges, and other barriers to stability. For more than 80 years, we’ve been there for our neighbors — providing help, dignity, and a path forward.

Now, there’s an opportunity to expand that impact even further. That’s where you come in!

The Community Engagement Specialist is a unique opportunity to expand CCNH’s presence across New Hampshire and connect more people to our mission. It’s a highly visible, relationship-driven role focused on building connections in communities throughout the state.

As a key ambassador for CCNH, you’ll work alongside our Marketing and Development teams to build relationships with community leaders, businesses, Catholic parishes, faith communities, schools, and local organizations. You’ll help create new opportunities for partnerships, volunteer engagement, and philanthropic support – while also contributing to the stories and outreach that bring our mission to life.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives on building relationships, enjoys being out in the community, and wants to play a direct role in expanding the reach of an organization making a meaningful difference across New Hampshire every day.

Responsibilities include:

Community Engagement & Partnerships

•Help develop and manage a strategic community engagement plan with the Marketing and Development teams, to increase awareness, partnerships, and revenue.

•Identify and prioritize high-impact community audiences and organizations (e.g., business leaders, faith communities, service groups, emerging professionals)

•Cultivate relationships with key community organizations and influencers, serving as the primary point of contact for CCNH’s external engagement.

•Build and maintain strong relationships with parishes across New Hampshire, regularly communicating program updates, impact, and opportunities for engagement with clergy, staff, and parish communities.

•Coordinate CCNH’s presence in the community, ensuring the right staff, programs, and messaging are represented at the right events and opportunities.

•Identify and secure high-value visibility opportunities, including speaking engagements, partnerships, sponsorships, and community events.

•Develop relationships with local and regional employers to expand workplace giving, matching gifts, sponsorships, and volunteer engagement.

•Build and manage a pipeline of community relationships and opportunities, tracking engagement, outcomes, and next steps to ensure sustained impact.

Social Services Marketing

•Provide regular marketing support for social services programs, with a focus on increasing awareness, referrals, and client engagement.

•Execute targeted strategies to expand program visibility within local communities and priority audiences.

•Partner with program teams and Development to support volunteer recruitment efforts and community campaigns.

Marketing & Communications Support

•Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to support outreach initiatives and amplify the visibility of CCNH programs and impact.

•Contribute to the development and distribution of compelling donor-facing content, including client stories, volunteer experiences, impact reports and program updates.

•Support digital outreach efforts, including social media and email campaigns, to amplify community engagement and visibility.

•Assist in the creation and coordination of video and multimedia content that brings CCNH’s mission and stories to life.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, nonprofit management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

· 3–7+ years of experience in community engagement, partnerships, business development, marketing, or a related field.

· Established professional relationships with community leaders and organizations across New Hampshire.

· Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including community organizations, business leaders, corporate partners, or faith-based groups.

· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to represent an organization professionally in public settings and build trust quickly.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple initiatives and priorities, coordinate across teams, and follow through on opportunities from initial connection to execution.

· Passion for serving others and supporting a mission that helps individuals and families in need.

· Self-starter who is comfortable working independently while also collaborating with colleagues across teams

· Familiarity with digital marketing and communications tools (social media, email marketing, content development) to support outreach efforts.

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to track and manage a pipeline of relationships and opportunities.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Comfort working within a Catholic ministry and supporting the mission and values of Catholic Charities NH.

· Experience with storytelling, video content, or digital communications is a plus.

This position is based in Manchester, NH, and requires regular travel throughout New Hampshire to attend meetings, community gatherings, and networking events. Occasional evening and weekend events may be required.

The Community Engagement Specialist will report to the Executive Director of Marketing & Communications and will work closely with the Program Marketing Specialist, Creative Services Manager, fundraising team, and program leadership across Catholic Charities NH.
