We are looking for a personable and detail-oriented Universal Banker to support members with everyday financial needs at a credit union. This Long-term Contract to hire position is ideal for someone who enjoys delivering attentive service, handling account activity accurately, and guiding members through a range of banking solutions. The role combines front-line transaction support with account and lending assistance, helping create a positive and efficient member experience.


Responsibilities:

• Process routine financial activities such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, loan payments, and other account-related transactions with a high level of accuracy.

• Open, maintain, and service consumer deposit accounts while ensuring documentation is complete and aligned with established procedures.

• Provide support for consumer lending products by assisting members with inquiries, applications, and follow-up service needs.

• Help members with mortgage, IRA, and business banking requests, engaging internal partners or leadership when specialized guidance is needed.

• Identify opportunities to introduce relevant credit union products and services that match member goals and financial situations.

• Deliver responsive service to both new and existing members by answering questions, resolving routine issues, and creating a welcoming branch experience.

• Balance daily transaction activity and contribute to smooth branch operations through careful recordkeeping and adherence to controls

• At least 1 year of experience in banking, credit union operations, retail financial services, or a similar customer-facing environment.
• Working knowledge of common branch transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payment processing.
• Ability to provide strong customer service while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience supporting retail sales or identifying service opportunities based on customer needs.
• Familiarity with deposit account servicing and general consumer banking products.
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and comfort handling financial transactions.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, and specialized support teams.
