The Manager of Warehouse Operations and Logistics is responsible for the overall operational administration and management of warehouses, facilities, and logistics in the New England region. This includes Plaistow-NH, Bloomfield-CT and satellite hubs in Holbrook-MA and Kingston-MA. This position will ensure inventory is accounted for in a safe and efficient manner. This will include establishing and maintaining workflow processes as necessary to meet delivery/pick-up goals as well as performance standards.
What you will do:
- Oversees the implementation of all warehouse operations, including logistics, scheduling systems, delivery, transportation, loading dock activity, security, warehouse temperature control, pest control, emergency action plans, and closing procedures.
- Develops and drives culture of accountability through daily assessments and operational evaluation.
- Upon review of operating results of the assigned branches, takes steps to correct any issues or concerns.
- Directs the activities involved in the efficient movement of product including accurate receipt, storage, distribution, maximizing space, resources, and avoiding waste or damages.
- Establishes effective procedures and controls for the safe and efficient movement and preservation of product; monitors adherence to established procedures to ensure safety and sanitation measures are followed
- Ensures an accurate inventory of products at all times through a maintained inventory control system.
- Directly accountable for the successful implementation, assessment, and transition of all new operational initiatives.
- Develops, documents, and executes standard operating procedures across all facilities and delivery operations
- Develops or directs the creation of metrics to measure the performance of all areas of warehouse and logistics
- Cultivates a high performance, result-oriented culture by maintaining positive working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders.
- Documents program procedures and best practices for internal use, as well as to enable sharing of successful models with existing and future customers
- Serves as primary liaison with auditors for assigned branches
- Ensures equipment and facilities are operational while identifying opportunities for improvement to reduce waste and manage repair needs.
- Oversees preventative maintenance for warehouse vehicles, equipment, and facilities.
- Suggests replacement schedule for facility systems, equipment, and warehouse vehicles.
- Develops and manages the safety of all locations to ensure a safe working environment for all employees, subcontractors, visitors and guests.
- Assist and train employees
What you will need:
- Ten Plus (10+) years of warehouse experience
- Five plus (5+) years of warehouse management
- Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Ability to operate a Forklift
- MS Office Skills, specifically Excel
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
The Physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Hand manipulation is required for grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as below the shoulder for same. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity, and work at heights.
