Job DescriptionThe Program Director oversees the daily operations of the sober house, ensuring a safe, supportive, structured, and accountable living environment for clients in early recovery. This role maintains the integrity of the house, enforces policies, supports clients progress, and serves as a positive, professional presence within the community.

Provide daily supervision, guidance, and accountability for clients.

Administrative duties as assigned ie: staff scheduling, billing, payment collection

Conduct regular check-ins with residents to monitor progress, well-being, and compliance with house expectations.

Promote a recovery-oriented environment built on respect, empowerment, and peer support.

Assist residents in building independent living skills, recovery capital, and relapse-prevention strategies.

Enforce house rules, policies, curfews, and sobriety requirements consistently and fairly.

Perform and document random drug and alcohol screenings.

Manage resident intake, orientation, room assignments, and move-outs.

Maintain accurate records, logs, incident reports, and communication notes.

Ensure the home remains clean, organized, and safe; coordinate or perform basic maintenance as needed.

Monitor supply inventory and request or purchase household items within guidelines.

Address conflicts, behavioral concerns, or policy violations promptly and professionally.

Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies or relapse situations and follow established protocols.

Collaborate with external support systems, treatment providers, and emergency services when needed.

Foster a supportive, recovery-positive culture rooted in accountability and mutual respect.

Communicate clearly with clients, staff, and supervisors regarding updates, issues, or needs.

Qualifications


Experience working in recovery housing, behavioral health, or human services preferred.

Strong understanding of addiction, recovery principles, and relapse-prevention strategies.

Excellent communication, boundary-setting, and conflict-resolution skills.

Minimum 2 years continuous sobriety.

Ability to remain calm, impartial, and professional in challenging situations.

Reliable, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation.

Valid drivers license (if transportation responsibilities apply).

Requires onsite presence, and or weekend/evening hours.

Involves interaction with residents in varying stages of recovery.
