We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Gear Cutter to join our precision manufacturing team. This role is integral to producing high-precision gears for demanding applications such as aerospace, automotive, and industrial machinery. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating gear cutting equipment, including hobbing, shaping, and broaching machines, and possess a strong understanding of gear geometry and quality standards.

- Set up and operate gear cutting machines including gear hobbing, gear shaping, and gear grinding equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and gear specifications to determine tooling and machine setup.
- Inspect gears using precision measuring tools (e.g., micrometers, gear tooth calipers, CMMs) to ensure compliance with tolerances and quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and cutting tools to ensure optimal performance.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
- Maintain accurate production records and adhere to safety and quality protocols.
- Assist in training junior machinists or apprentices as needed.
Essential Skills
- 3+ years of experience in gear cutting or precision machining.
- Proficiency in operating manual and CNC gear cutting machines.
- Understanding of gear types (spur, helical, bevel, worm) and gear cutting methods.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
- Familiarity with gear measurement standards such as AGMA or ISO.
- High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or trade school training preferred.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
