Job Title: Lathe Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled machinist to set up and operate medium-sized CNC lathes, including both barfeeders and turret lathes, specifically OKUMA and NAKAMURA models.

Pay: $25 - $35/hr

Shift: 1st shift: 7:00am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday

Responsibilities

  • Set up and efficiently operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations.
  • Read and edit CNC programs using G codes and M codes.
  • Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine required machining operations.
  • Select and install appropriate cutting tools and adjust machine settings.
  • Monitor the machining process to ensure product quality and accuracy.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Make necessary adjustments to machine settings to maintain product quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in CNC lathe operation and CNC machining.
  • Strong knowledge of Fanuc controls and programming.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.
  • Proficient in basic math skills for measurements and calculations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rockland, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
