Product Quality Technician – 2nd Shift
Schedule & Pay
- 2nd Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
- Training: Must start on 1st shift
- Pay: $24.75–$25.37 per hour
Important: This position must train on 1st shift before transitioning to 2nd shift. Training length will depend on the individual’s learning curve.
You’ll spend time on the production floor, learning processes, supporting quality checks, and gaining hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment.
About the Role
This is an entry-to-mid-level quality position ideal for someone with 2+ years of food manufacturing or quality experience, or a recent graduate with relevant education who is looking to grow their career in food quality. This role works closely with Production and Quality teams to help ensure products meet established quality and food safety standards throughout the prep, cook, and fill processes.
Skills
- Basic understanding of food manufacturing or quality processes
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and data lookup
- Ability to follow procedures, instructions, and safety rules
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well in a team-based, production environment
- Good communication skills and a positive, professional attitude
- Passion for food and maintaining high-quality standards
What You’ll Be Doing
- Support daily production by monitoring quality during cooking and filling processes
- Work with blender operators and production staff to observe cooking parameters and product quality
- Perform routine quality checks, batch testing, and product sampling
- Assist with identifying product trends and escalate concerns when product may be out of specification
- Help document quality checks, test results, and observations using Microsoft Word and Excel
- Support investigations and corrective actions related to quality issues or customer feedback
- Serve as a resource to production by reinforcing quality standards and procedures
- Be present and engaged on the production floor throughout the shift
- Follow established GMPs, SOPs, and food safety requirements
- Provide follow-up monitoring and feedback as needed
Food Safety Responsibilities
- Accurately complete required quality and food safety documentation
- Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety policies
- Adhere to allergen control programs and procedures
- Report any food safety, security, or quality concerns promptly
- Monitor CCPs, follow approved HACCP plan
(training provided as applicable)
Experience & Education (Flexible)
- 2+ years of experience in food manufacturing, quality, or a related role OR Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Statistics, or a related field
- (Relevant education may substitute for direct manufacturing experience)
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Quality certifications (HACCP, SQF, PCQI, etc.)
- Prior training, coaching, or production support experience
