About the Position

The Senior Territory Manager will drive sales of mass spectrometry instrumentation in the Eastern Massachusetts territory, with a focus on the Cambridge biotech and pharma market. This role is ideal for a technically minded sales professional who thrives on building relationships with scientists and key decision-makers, growing existing accounts, and winning new business in a competitive, fast-moving market.

This individual will manage the full sales cycle — from prospecting and account planning through competitive conversions, cross-selling, and contract close. Success requires deep product and market knowledge and the ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales for large capital equipment deals.

This is a field-based role based in the Greater Boston area, offering the opportunity to represent a market leader in mass spectrometry within one of the country's most active life science hubs.

About the Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical sales experience selling complex capital equipment in the life sciences, mass spec or analytical instrumentation is preferred
  • Proven ability to navigate complex, multi-stakeholder sales within pharma and biopharma accounts
  • Strong technical aptitude and understanding of mass spec workflows
  • Demonstrated success managing a full sales cycle, including new account acquisition, cross-selling, and competitive conversions
  • Strong account management and prospecting skills, with disciplined use of CRM and forecasting tools
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate across sales, marketing, and technical teams
  • Local field travel within the territory (up to 75%) and occasional overnight travel for internal meetings and conferences is required
  • Must be located in the Boston/Cambridge area
  • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or a related field is required
