Job Summary:
RegalCare at Blackstone Valley is seeking a reliable and compassionate Part-Time Cook to join our team. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in preparing nutritious, appetizing meals for our residents while maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality. If you enjoy cooking and take pride in providing quality meals and excellent service to others, we would love to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
• Prepare meals and snacks according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Follow modified diets and special dietary needs as directed.
• Ensure food is prepared, cooked, stored, and served at appropriate temperatures.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized kitchen and food preparation areas.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
• Assist with meal service and ensure meals are presented attractively and served on schedule.
• Properly label, date, and store food items.
• Monitor food supplies and communicate inventory needs to the Dietary Manager.
• Work cooperatively with dietary and nursing staff to meet residents' needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Previous cooking experience preferred; healthcare, nursing home, hospital, or institutional food-service experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to follow recipes, menus, and special dietary instructions.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team.
• Must demonstrate respect, patience, and a resident-centered approach.
Schedule:
• Part-time schedule and hours to be discussed during the interview.
• Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
