Position: Process Engineer
Location: Nashua, NH
Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design, sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join our Hi-Speed Cable team. The position will be located onsite in our Nashua, New Hampshire office.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead process development activities for new High-Speed I/O cable assembly products to ensure optimized manufacturability, cost efficiency, and quality.
- Lead multifunctional teams to establish and document Manufacturing details to drive product transitions/transfers globally to new and existing manufacturing sites.
- Support Engineering build events, technical reviews, and cross-functional program milestones.
- Collaborate with Design Engineering to influence decisions, including design-for-manufacturing and tolerance considerations. Support Design and Development of new Hi-Speed Cable products to optimize manufacturability. (Quality, Cost, Efficiency)
- Perform and document DFMEA/PFMEA, identifying risks and driving mitigation actions. Conduct tolerance stack-up analysis, process capability studies (Cp/Cpk), and define key control characteristics. Create and maintain Control Plans, work instructions, and detailed process documentation.
- Develop, source, and implement specialized equipment, tooling, and fixtures required for prototype sample builds, pilot builds and ongoing production.
- Establish, validate, and optimize assembly processes across global manufacturing sites (USA, China, Mexico, Vietnam).
- Apply Six Sigma and statistical tools to reduce variation and enhance process robustness.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10-15%
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5 years of experience as Process/Manufacturing Engineer in a manufacturing environment
- Working knowledge of solid modeling tools, (Creo, SolidWorks, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of MS Suite of products (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Familiarity with Six Sigma, DOE, and root-cause analysis methodologies
- Experience with PCBA SMT and/or soldering preferred
- Experience in the design and assembly of telecommunication cable assemblies preferred
