Bindery Manager Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and driven Bindery Manager to oversee all bindery operations across two shifts. This individual will be responsible for ensuring all bindery employees are properly trained, that equipment is operated at peak efficiency, and that jobs move through the bindery quickly, accurately, and with exceptional quality.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage bindery operations for both first and second shifts.
- Ensure employees are thoroughly trained on all bindery equipment, including perfect binders, saddle stitchers, and other finishing machinery.
- Assign jobs and staffing to ensure machines are appropriately manned for maximum productivity.
- Monitor production schedules and workflow to ensure deadlines are consistently met.
- Motivate and guide machine operators to achieve and maintain optimal run speeds while maintaining quality standards.
- Troubleshoot production issues and work with maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Foster a positive work environment while holding staff accountable to performance expectations.
- Maintain a high level of communication with other department managers to ensure smooth job handoffs.
- Monitor safety practices and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Strong knowledge of bindery equipment, specifically perfect binders and saddle stitchers.
- Proven ability to manage, train, and motivate a team across multiple shifts.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to balance encouragement with performance accountability.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with production scheduling and job tracking systems preferred.
Work Schedule:
- 8-hour shifts
