A Middle School in Exeter, NH is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide specialized care for a student with Type I Diabetes. This is a contracted position for the current school year, offering the chance to make a significant impact in a school nursing environment.
Responsibilities include delivering personalized health care to a 1:1 male student with Type I Diabetes, supporting his medical needs throughout the school day. This role requires supervision of the LPN by an RN while on-site if an LPN candidate is selected. Bus riding is an essential duty, with work hours starting near 6:30 AM for morning transport and ending around 2:30 PM after afternoon bus duties, Monday through Friday, following the school schedule from 7:30 AM to 2:20 PM, with early release days included.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Current Massachusetts or New Hampshire RN or LPN license with active status
- LPN candidates must have specific training and experience managing Type I Diabetes and be willing to work under RN supervision as required
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Ability to manage and maintain medical logs and coordinate care plans
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with school staff and families
- Willingness and ability to perform essential bus riding duties as part of the school routine
