Job DescriptionSalary:
The Electronic Technician performs standard testing processes on a variety of equipment, then records and analyzes results. This position requires the ability to thoroughly understand schematics and the ability to troubleshoot electronic PCBs to the component level. This position requires knowledge of industry specific tests and testing equipment including multimeters, power supplies, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes. This role requires a person who can work independently as well as work in a team environment with the lead technician and production manager.
The role will require following approved test procedures, recording specific test data and ensuring all necessary documents are recorded as required. This is a full-time position based at GSSIs Nashua, NH headquarters.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform testing and any necessary troubleshooting of electronic assemblies, working with peers in test and assembly positions as well as other departments as required.
- Diagnose and isolate malfunctions to the component level. Identify necessary rework and coordinate rework efforts with assembly personnel.
- Communicate on a regular basis with the Production Manager, Quality Manger as well as Manufacturing Engineering to ensure products, processes and procedures are improved when necessary.
- Load firmware & software and confirm performance of software-controlled electronics as well as test fixtures.
- Maintain test equipment and fixtures used for final and inprocess testing
- Setsup and conducts final test of complete units under operational conditions to determine final acceptance status. On rare occasions this may include outdoor testing as required.
- Record test procedures and results, numerical and graphical data, and make recommendations for changes in product or test method
- Crosstrain with other technicians to ensure ability to test all products required by the Production Manager
- Validate performance on new designs
- Ensure that end product meets specific standards by inspecting products and processes, conducting tests, or collecting data
- Troubleshoot and assist in preparation of test procedures and deliver test results
- Work from schedules, specifications, test procedures, manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams, sketches, engineering change orders, complex computer programs and manufacturing procedures
- Other related duties as assigned by the Production Manager
Requirements:
- Associate or bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience (minimum 3 years' experience)
- Communicate in a positive and friendly manner and able to articulate precise written and verbal details
- Must be a highly motivated team player with an ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks
