Job DescriptionJob Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining an automated screw machine to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machine operations, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain automated screw machines to meet production requirements.
  • Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products.
  • Set up machines according to production specifications and blueprints.
  • Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, coolant checks, and basic repairs.
  • Monitor machine performance and address any operational issues.
  • Assist with general shop duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and packing.
  • Move raw materials and finished goods within the facility as needed.
  • Ensure machines continue to run smoothly during breaks and downtime.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Prior experience in machine operation and maintenance.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and performing mechanical tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass a math and mechanical aptitude test.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and operational principles.
  • Experience working with automated or screw machines.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing/production floor setting.
  • Requires standing for extended periods and handling materials.
  • May involve moderate physical activity, including lifting and moving materials

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr.
