We are seeking a skilled and reliable Machine Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining an automated screw machine to ensure efficient production and high-quality output. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with machine operations, strong mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain automated screw machines to meet production requirements.
- Load raw materials into machines and unload finished products.
- Set up machines according to production specifications and blueprints.
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, coolant checks, and basic repairs.
- Monitor machine performance and address any operational issues.
- Assist with general shop duties including cleaning, sweeping, mopping, and packing.
- Move raw materials and finished goods within the facility as needed.
- Ensure machines continue to run smoothly during breaks and downtime.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Prior experience in machine operation and maintenance.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and performing mechanical tasks.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a math and mechanical aptitude test.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and operational principles.
- Experience working with automated or screw machines.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
- Manufacturing/production floor setting.
- Requires standing for extended periods and handling materials.
- May involve moderate physical activity, including lifting and moving materials
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Agawam, MA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.10 - $23.10/hr.
