Title: CNC Operator
Location: Milford New Hampshire 03055
Duration: 6+ months
Mon-Fri 2:30pm-10:30pm
Pay Rate: Pay Rate Range: $20-30/hour + 15% differential
Position Summary
The Advanced CNC Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, troubleshooting, and performing advanced programming on CNC machines. This role requires strong technical expertise, precision, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and productivity.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform advanced CNC machine operation, including complete machine setup
- Load raw materials and unload finished parts
- Operate multiple machines simultaneously
- Select and set up appropriate tooling and fixtures
- Adjust tooling and work offsets as required
- Troubleshoot and significantly edit existing CNC programs
- Perform basic program development
- Inspect own work and co-workers’ work to ensure quality standards
- Make precision adjustments to maintain dimensional tolerances and part accuracy
- Set up and operate all machines within the department
- Drive continuous improvement in processes, productivity, quality, and safety
- Utilize measurement tools including snap gauges, micrometers, digital calipers, and optical comparators
- Maintain and use QMS, MAX, and SPC databases as required
- Perform preventive maintenance, including topping off lubricants
- Follow established quality and safety procedures; help develop new procedures as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including chip removal and equipment cleaning
- Communicate delays, issues, and production challenges effectively
- Work with minimal supervision and collaborate across departments
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Solid knowledge of trigonometry, geometry, and basic math
- Advanced understanding of CNC programming language
- Strong understanding of machining practices and manufacturing processes
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Advanced manufacturing/machining training or certification preferred
- 3+ years of manufacturing and machining experience preferred
