We are seeking a motivated Seasonal Paving Inspector to join our Consulting team. This entry-level position involves contributing to various paving, transportation, and infrastructure projects, primarily within the Quality Control and Quality Assurance programs for our clients. Projects will primarily be located in the candidate's local region, although occasional travel and night work may be required.

In this role, you will work as an integral member of a client's team, typically comprised of construction or paving contractors, while independently representing their interests on job sites. Projects will range from basic paving initiatives to full-depth reconstructions and other infrastructure installations, including concrete, soils, and rebar inspections. The successful candidate must demonstrate strong coordination skills, working closely with project Foremen, QC Managers, and Owners, while collaborating with a diverse project team. A foundational knowledge of paving, concrete, and road construction is essential, and we are committed to providing training to help you achieve the NETTCP Hot Mix Asphalt Paving Inspector certification and other relevant qualifications.

Basic Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and inspect construction and paving activities to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Measure and test in-place pavement densities during placement operations.
  • Complete and submit daily reports.
  • Coordinate daily activities with owners and contractor representatives, identifying production and placement issues.
  • Conduct material sampling and testing.
  • Collect and verify project data.
  • Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
  • Lift up to 75 Lbs.
  • Work overnight shifts or weekends
  • work on or near active highways or high-traffic zones

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of construction inspection experience (entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply).
  • NETTCP HMA Paving Inspector certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Commitment to responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, in alignment with JTC Inc.'s employee handbook and policies.
  • Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.
