Grill / Prep Cook (Breakfast & Lunch)
Java Shack – Dartmouth, MA
Pay: $16.00/hour
Java Shack is a locally owned coffee shop serving fresh breakfast, lunch, coffee, and espresso drinks. We're looking for a dependable, hardworking Grill/Prep Cook to join our team. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced kitchen, take pride in preparing quality food, and work well with others, we'd love to meet you.
This position is ideal for someone who is organized, reliable, and able to keep up during busy breakfast and lunch rushes while maintaining high standards of food quality and cleanliness.
Schedule
This is a part-time position with a consistent weekly schedule:
- Wednesday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Thursday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Saturday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM (Saturday availability is required.)
Responsibilities
- Prepare breakfast and lunch menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Set up and stock workstations before each shift
- Prep ingredients including vegetables, meats, sauces, and other menu items
- Operate grill and other kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen throughout the shift
- Properly label, store, and rotate food products
- Monitor food quality and freshness
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures
- Work closely with the front-of-house team to provide excellent service
Qualifications
- Previous grill, line cook, or prep cook experience preferred
- ServSafe Certification is a plus (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Dependable with excellent attendance
- Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
