General Purpose:\n
\n
Safely and efficiently operate DFA tank trailers to transport raw milk from farm or depot to the plant. Drive over a variety of streets, highways, and rural access roads. Drivers must follow the dispatch schedule and directions from driver supervisors.
\n
\n
Drivers are required to take quality control samples at farms, measure the milk loaded into trailers, minimize truck idle times, and conserve fuel consumption. Drivers are expected to operate safely and legally at all times.
\n
Job Responsibilities:\n
\n
-Operate a commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT, DFA Commercial Motor Vehicle, and safety policies
\n
-Perform physical tasks including lifting, connecting/disconnecting hoses, climbing a ladder, and safely hooking/unhooking trucks and trailers
\n
-Verify proper documentation, including load numbers/seal numbers, to validate load delivery and destination
\n
-Disassemble, clean, and reassemble trailer pumps to maintain proper cleanliness at a food-grade level
\n
-Represent DFA positively and professionally during interactions with customers or regulatory personnel
\n
Requirements:\n
\n
-Valid Class A CDL in the state of residence
\n
-Must be at least 21 years of age
\n
-1+ year CDL experience or FMCSA-approved driving school graduate
\n
-Tanker endorsement - or able to obtain
\n
-High School diploma or GED, preferred
\n
-Knowledge of DOT rules and safety regulations
\n
-Must meet MVR requirements, DOT requirements, and pre-employment background requirements
\n
-Clear English communication - written and verbal
\n
-Basic math and measurement skills
\n
-Must be able to work independently
\n
-Must be willing to work weekends and 12+ hour shifts
