Position Summary:
\n
The Senior Accountant - Manufacturing is a key member of the plant finance team, working closely with the Regional Controller and plant operations management. This role oversees the month-end close process, ensures accurate and timely financial reporting, and supervises the accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll functions. The ideal candidate brings a passion for operational accounting, strong supervisory skills, and the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.

Duties & Responsibilities:

- Lead and execute the month-end financial closing process, ensuring completeness and accuracy
- Prepare and review timely account reconciliations
- Post accruals to ensure costs are matched to the appropriate accounting period
- Oversee cost accounting, margin reporting, overhead allocation, labor, and manufacturing cost absorption
- Prepare and distribute monthly financial reports to plant and regional management
- Provide financial analysis and operational insight to plant managers
- Supervise and develop two direct reports responsible for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll processing
- Review and approve A/R, A/P, and payroll transactions to ensure accuracy and proper authorization
- Maintain and enforce internal financial controls at the plant level
- Support weekly cash reporting and cash management activities
- Assist with KPI tracking and reporting as directed by the Regional Controller

Periodic Duties:

- Support preparation of the annual budget and quarterly forecasts
- Assist with analysis of actual costs by customer, program, and job
- Ensure inventory integrity through transaction oversight and participation in physical inventory counts
- Proactively identify accounting issues and collaborate on resolutions
- Participate in the annual audit and support documentation requests

Minimum Requirements:
\n
- \n
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing environment
- Prior supervisory experience required; experience managing A/R, A/P, and/or payroll functions strongly preferred
- BS in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA a plus
- Cost accounting experience required
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with ERP systems required; experience with Visual Infor a plus
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment across all levels of the organization
