Job Type: Full-Time, Direct Hire

Position Overview:
We are on the lookout for a seasoned Mold Tooling Engineering Manager to spearhead our engineering efforts in crafting innovative medical cable assemblies and connector products. The ideal candidate will possess a robust background in managing the design and production processes, with a particular focus on injection-molded components. This role offers the perfect platform for a professional driven by innovation and leadership to shine in a fast-paced environment.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the internal tool shop with efficiency, coordinating efforts between toolmakers and mold design engineers.
- Conduct comprehensive Design for Manufacturability (DFM) assessments to ensure optimal product design standards.
- Design, assess, and refine injection molds tailored for medical connector components and cable assemblies.
- Formulate and support tooling concepts, emphasizing gating, venting, cooling, and surface finishes.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to ensure designs are not only manufacturable but also cost-effective.
- Engage with external mold shops, both domestic and international, to oversee the tool design and qualification process.
- Address tooling-related challenges and facilitate updates to designs as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- At least 10 years of experience in mold design, tooling, or toolmaking.
- An Associate's degree or higher in engineering, manufacturing, or a related technical field; equivalent hands-on experience is also recognized.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD software.
- Strong ability to conduct thorough DFM and tooling feasibility assessments.
- Extensive experience in medical device or regulated manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience collaborating with global manufacturing partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience specific to medical connector and cable assembly mold design.
- Background as a journeyman toolmaker or significant shop floor experience.
- Familiarity with medical validation processes, including IQ/OQ/PQ.
