CNC Laser Operator

Location: Sturbridge, MA
Pay: $22.00–$24.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-Time

Savvy Staffing is seeking a CNC Laser Operator for a metal manufacturing company in Sturbridge, MA. This is a great opportunity for someone with CNC, machine operation, or metal manufacturing experience who is comfortable working with measurements, blueprints, and production equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, adjust, and operate CNC laser equipment according to production requirements
  • Read and interpret routers, travelers, customer drawings, and specifications
  • Set machine parameters and power settings
  • Load metal sheets into the machine and operate the laser to cut parts
  • Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
  • Make minor program adjustments and perform basic laser programming
  • Troubleshoot equipment and make adjustments as needed
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and coordinate maintenance when needed
  • Ensure finished products meet quality and dimensional requirements
  • Move materials and parts using hoists, cranes, forklifts, or hand trucks
  • Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment
  • Communicate production, quality, and safety concerns to supervisors

Qualifications

  • Previous CNC, laser, machining, or metal manufacturing experience is preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and layouts
  • Comfortable using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and tape measures
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software and machine controls
  • Basic math skills, including decimals, fractions, and percentages
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Must be able to obtain forklift and crane licenses
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Team-oriented with a willingness to learn and improve processes
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly lift and handle materials weighing up to 75 lbs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, balance, and handle materials throughout the shift
  • Ability to safely operate material-handling equipment
