Job Title: Warehouse Associate

Job Description

The warehouse associate plays a key role in supporting production by accurately picking orders, delivering materials throughout the facility, and staging products on the production floor. This position ensures inventory is handled safely and efficiently while maintaining accurate records in the warehouse systems.

Responsibilities

  • Pick orders accurately and efficiently according to production and shipping requirements.
  • Deliver materials throughout the production area to ensure lines remain stocked and running smoothly.
  • Stage materials on the production floor in the correct locations and quantities.
  • Locate materials in the computer system and verify item numbers, quantities, and locations.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Pick materials from warehouse shelves using reach trucks and cherry pickers.
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, stand-up forklifts, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Load and unload trucks as needed, ensuring accurate counts and proper handling of materials.
  • Use RF scanners and digital tools to track inventory movements and update records in real time.
  • Troubleshoot inventory issues, including discrepancies, missing items, and location errors.
  • Inspect incoming materials and packaging visually to ensure they are not damaged before being received into inventory.
  • Follow all safety procedures and warehouse guidelines while operating equipment and handling materials.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in the warehouse and production staging zones.

Essential Skills

  • Prior forklift experience, including safe operation of forklifts and related material handling equipment.
  • Previous experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Ability to operate reach trucks, cherry pickers, stand-up forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Experience with order picking, material handling, and inventory processes.
  • Ability to use RF scanners and follow digital picking instructions.
  • Capability to consistently lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English to follow work instructions and safety guidelines.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift certification from a previous job is highly preferred.
  • Experience with ERP systems and digital inventory management is a plus.
  • Familiarity with cycle counts and basic inventory control procedures.
  • Comfort working with reach lifts and order picking equipment.
  • Attention to detail when inspecting incoming materials and verifying inventory.

Work Environment

This role is based in a warehouse and production support environment that operates on multiple shifts. The environment is fast-paced and production-focused, with an emphasis on safety, organization, and teamwork.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sterling, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $23.00/hr.
