The Role
A consultative sales position responsible for converting inquiries into booked events and one-time clients into long-term referral sources. This is not an order-taking role. It requires building trust quickly, guiding clients through significant decisions, and selling premium experiences at full value. Our market ranges from Central MA to North Shore, Cape Cod, Boston, NH, CT, and RI.
Responsibilities
Own the Sales Process
- Respond to and convert inbound leads for wedding, social, and corporate events
- Conduct client calls, tastings, and site visits, frequently at offsite and tented venues
- Build customized proposals that reflect both client vision and company margin requirements
- Close business and manage contracting through signature
Build Relationships That Drive Revenue
- Serve as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the planning cycle
- Develop and maintain relationships with planners, venues, and industry partners
- Generate referral and repeat business
Drive Growth
- Prospect high-value venues, planners, and corporate accounts
- Maintain pipeline and activity records in CRM
- Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets
Partner with Operations
- Coordinate handoff to operations and remain engaged through execution to ensure commitments made in sales are delivered
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years in event, catering, venue, or hospitality sales
- Demonstrated record of closing revenue, not solely coordinating events
- Comfortable discussing pricing, negotiating terms, and asking for the close
- Strong interpersonal instincts; establishes credibility quickly
- Organized and detail-oriented without losing momentum
- CRM experience; Total Party Planning, Tripleseat or comparable preferred
Performance Measures
- Conversion rate on qualified inquiries
- Attainment of sales targets at required margin
- Referral and repeat business volume
- Depth of planner and venue partnerships developed
