Production Supervisor – Steel Fabrication (Manufacturing Industry)

- Salary Range: $85,000 - $114,000 (DOE)
- Shift: 1st (630am-330pm)
About the Role
Storm Search is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to lead and support production operations for our client, a leading manufacturer in the steel fabrication industry. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in steel fabrication, a strong understanding of blueprint reading, and the ability to manage a team in a high-paced manufacturing environment. This position plays a key role in ensuring production targets, safety standards, and quality benchmarks are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise day-to-day operations of welders, fitters, CNC operators, and support staff.
- Present production schedules and productivity reports to plant leadership.
- Monitor and evaluate production output to identify variances from goals.
- Recommend and assist in implementing corrective actions to address labor or production issues.
- Resolve daily production challenges including material shortages and equipment malfunctions.
- Coordinate cross-department workflow and manage labor resources efficiently.
- Participate in hiring, training, and evaluating team members.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company policies.
- Support continuous improvement and remain informed on industry best practices.
Qualifications & Skills
- Associate degree or equivalent technical training (preferred: steel fabrication or related).
- Strong background in steel fabrication and blueprint reading.
- Proven ability to identify and resolve production challenges.
- Effective communication, team leadership, and time management skills.
- Proficient with Google Workspace and Microsoft Office tools.
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to stand, climb, kneel, or lift materials up to 60 lbs.
- Must have visual capabilities including depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Work involves exposure to a steel fabrication environment with occasional high noise levels, fumes, and mechanical hazards.
