Job Description

Job Description Do you see a complex print and immediately picture the process?

If you instinctively map datum schemes, rough/finish strategies, and toolholder choices the moment you open a model, you’ll feel at home at MK Services in Middleton, MA. We’re an AS9100-approved precision manufacturer serving Aerospace, Defense, and Medical programs—and we’re growing fast with great benefits, flexible schedules, and clear paths to advance.

Imagine this

You receive a dual-spindle turning job with tight concentricity and ASME Y14.5 callouts. You import the model into Mastercam, define op sequences, select inserts and holders that fit the envelope, and post a first article program. On the floor, you partner with a seasoned machinist to prove it out—tweaking feeds, optimizing chip control, and validating features. You lock down the setup sheet, archive the proven .nc, and roll lessons learned into the next program. That’s a typical day here.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and refine CNC programs in Mastercam for single-spindle/turret and multi-axis dual-spindle/dual-turret lathes.
  • Translate ASME Y14.5 GD&T and CAD data into practical, efficient machining processes.
  • Select cutting tools, holders, fixtures, and materials that align with machine capabilities and part requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with machinists, engineers, and quality to launch, stabilize, and improve processes.
  • Maintain thorough documentation—programs, setup instructions, and revision-controlled proven posts.
  • Continuously improve by staying current on tooling, strategies, and machining technologies.
  • Ensure all work complies with applicable safety regulations and industry standards.

What you bring

  • 3–5+ years of CNC turning programming experience; background in aerospace, defense, or medical preferred.
  • Proficiency with Mastercam; familiarity with Gibbs, CAMWorks, and SolidWorks is beneficial.
  • Deep understanding of machining processes, materials, and quality systems with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Clear communicator who works effectively with machinists, other programmers, leadership, and suppliers.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s in CNC programming, machine tool technology, or related field preferred.
  • Proven capability in CNC programming, aerospace manufacturing practices, and configuring setups for production runs.

Tools and machines in play

  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis)
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis; dual-spindle/dual-turret)
  • CNC Swiss Lathe
  • CAM software ecosystem (Mastercam primary; Gibbs/CAMWorks exposure a plus)

Important

This is an on-site position requiring direct CNC programming and manufacturing planning experience. Machine operation, setup, or supervisory experience alone does not satisfy the requirement.

Why join MK Services

  • Competitive benefits package
  • Flexible schedules
  • Significant growth opportunities
  • Collaborative team of top talent in Middleton, MA
