JOB SUMMARY:
InTest Thermal Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with 5-7 years of experience and a strong educational background in Thermal or Refrigeration Engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, testing, and integration of advanced refrigeration systems capable of achieving ultra-low temperatures. This role requires expertise in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and refrigeration engineering to support product development and innovation. The position reports to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Requirements:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Design and develop ultra-cold thermal chiller systems utilizing advanced refrigeration technologies.
• Carry out thermal and mechanical analyses to verify system performance and reliability.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate refrigeration systems into thermal test equipment.
• Conduct testing and validation of components and systems to ensure compliance with performance requirements.
• Prepare comprehensive engineering documentation, including design drawings, specifications, and test reports.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to manufacturing and field service teams.
• Maintain adherence to industry standards and safety regulations in refrigeration system design.
• Use SolidWorks and thermal simulation tools for system modeling and optimization.
• Estimate design costs and coordinate with system engineering, application engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure the design meets intended requirements.
• Support implementation of new designs or related manufacturing processes; update ISO-related documents and procedures as necessary.
• Perform additional engineering tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• BSME or MSME with an emphasis on thermodynamics, heat transfer, or refrigeration engineering.
• 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically in ultra-cold refrigeration systems.
• Proficient in SolidWorks, thermal simulation software, and refrigeration system modeling.
• Knowledge of refrigeration cycles, compressor technologies, and heat exchangers.
• Experience in the semiconductor or capital equipment industry considered beneficial.
• Demonstrated problem-solving, communication, and project management abilities.
• Capable of working independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced engineering setting.
• Familiarity with Modeling Packages (such as SDRC Modeling [FEA/FEM], Autodesk, Ansys; SolidWorks, Cosmos, and Flo Works (are preferred).
• Hydraulic, pneumatic, and refrigeration piping modeling is desirable.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal interactions, mathematical applications, Microsoft Office, Windows, and ERP/MRP systems.
• Fluent in English written and oral
• Experience working in a multi-national organization is a plus
