Global company in the manufacturing space is seeking a Staff Accountant that will support day-to-day accounting operations with a strong focus on general ledger accounting, accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position reports directly to the Division Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Match vendor invoices to warehouse receipts; collaborate with purchasing and vendors to resolve discrepancies; generate bi-weekly check runs; input sales orders, issue customer invoices, process payments, track outstanding balances, and handle collection calls.
  • General Ledger & Reconciliations: Prepare and post journal entries (accruals, prepaid expenses, adjusting entries); perform balance sheet, inter company, and subsidiary ledger reconciliations.
  • Month-End & Financial Analysis: Assist with month-end and year-end close activities, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and basic financial analysis.
  • Compliance & Filings: Ensure adherence to internal accounting policies and applicable accounting standards; assist with sales tax, use tax, and related statutory filings.
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Work closely with operations, purchasing, production, and supply chain teams to resolve accounting and inventory discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities to streamline accounting workflows, internal controls, and reporting procedures.

Qualifications

  • Education: Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience: 2–5 years of accounting experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial statement preparation.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data analysis, functions, reporting).
    • Hands-on experience with an ERP system (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics/AX, SAP, NetSuite, Epicor, or similar).
  • Core Competencies: Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities; high attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines; strong written and verbal communication skills.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Frequently communicate and exchange information in a team-based office setting.
  • Constantly operate standard office equipment and work from a stationary position.
  • Occasionally move or lift up to 25 lbs.
