Job DescriptionPower System Engineer

Power Supply Electrical Engineer

We are an engineering-driven organization where teams work hands-on across the full product lifecycle, from concept and design through fabrication, testing, and delivery. Our engineers collaborate closely across disciplines to solve complex technical challenges, delivering reliable, high-quality systems tailored to each customer's needs.

Position Overview
We are seeking a Power Supply Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and validate power conversion solutions for embedded and industrial systems. The role focuses on architecting and delivering robust switch-mode and linear power supplies, integrating analog and digital control, and supporting PCB layout and manufacturing. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on circuit design with system-level thinking to meet performance, reliability, cost, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop power supply solutions, including switched-mode (buck, boost, SEPIC, flyback) and linear regulators for a range of product requirements.
  • Create and optimize analog and digital circuits for power conversion, regulation, monitoring, and protection.
  • Perform detailed circuit simulation and analysis (SPICE, behavioral models) to validate topology, stability, and thermal performance.
  • Develop schematics and collaborate on PCB layout to ensure signal integrity, thermal management, and manufacturability.
  • Specify components, generate BOMs, and evaluate suppliers to meet cost, availability, and reliability targets.
  • Prototype, test, and characterize power supplies in the lab, including functional testing, efficiency, thermal profiling, and stress testing.
  • Define and execute validation plans to meet regulatory and safety standards (EMC/EMI, safety isolation, surge/tolerance requirements).
  • Troubleshoot field and production issues, provide design revisions, and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Work cross-functionally with firmware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to integrate power systems into products and resolve interface issues.
  • Document designs, test procedures, and design verification results; support transfer to production and provide engineering support to manufacturing and QA teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Masters degree preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience designing power supplies and analog/digital circuitry; experience with both low-power and higher-power systems a plus.
  • Strong circuit design skills in analog and digital domains, including control loops, feedback compensation, and power semiconductor selection.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design constraints for power electronics, and familiarity with layout tools (e.g., Altium, Cadence, OrCAD).
  • Proficiency with simulation tools (SPICE/PSPICE/LTspice or equivalent) and lab instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, thermal cameras).
  • Knowledge of EMC/EMI mitigation techniques, safety standards, and regulatory test processes.
  • Experience producing BOMs, component selection, and working with contract manufacturers to bring designs into production.
  • Strong problemsolving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to crossfunctional teams.
  • Preferred: experience with embedded digital control of power systems (PWM, PMBus, digital compensation) and familiarity with thermal/mechanical integration considerations.
