BINDERY OPERATOR

Location: Hanover, New Hampshire
Shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week

COMPENSATION AND INCENTIVES

  • Competitive hourly pay
  • Overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours
  • Additional 8% shift incentive for hours worked on second shift
  • $2,500 hiring bonus after 12 weeks

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking dependable, mechanically inclined individuals to join our bindery and finishing department. In this position, you will learn to set up, operate, and monitor high-speed bindery equipment used to produce books, catalogs, and other printed materials.

Previous bindery experience is preferred but not required. Training will be provided for candidates with machine operating experience, mechanical ability, and a strong willingness to learn.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Set up and operate bindery equipment, including cutters, folders, stitchers, and perfect binders
  • Monitor equipment throughout production and make necessary adjustments
  • Complete machine changeovers and basic setups
  • Read job instructions, production specifications, and measurements
  • Inspect finished products for accurate cuts, folds, binding, counts, and overall quality
  • Identify and troubleshoot minor equipment or production issues
  • Keep equipment and work areas clean, safe, and organized
  • Work with other team members to meet daily production and quality goals
  • Follow all company safety procedures and production standards
  • Maintain dependable attendance and arrive prepared for each scheduled shift

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous experience operating machinery in printing, manufacturing, warehousing, or a related environment is preferred
  • Bindery, finishing, or commercial printing experience is a plus
  • Experience setting up or adjusting production equipment is preferred
  • Mechanically inclined and comfortable using basic tools
  • Able to follow job instructions and work with basic measurements and decimals
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively as part of a team
  • Willingness to learn multiple pieces of bindery and finishing equipment

PHYSICAL AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to remain on your feet for most of the shift
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to safely work around moving machinery and production equipment
