Job Objective:

The Product Quality Engineer will be responsible for the management of internal quality metrics, support interaction manufacturing team to resolve issues, and perform manufacturing quality assessments. This position will work closely with our QA team on incoming inspections, FAI s, and nonconforming material handling to drive continuous improvement with our supply chain. Responsible for working as part of the Quality team to maintain our compliance to ISO9001:2015/AS9100/AS1300 and internal company Standard Operating Procedures.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality systems and processes in alignment with AS9100 and other relevant industry standards.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (RCCA, 5-Why) to resolve non-conformances and drive sustainable improvements.
  • Create, review, and update quality documentation, including control plans, inspection procedures, work instructions, and audit records.
  • Manage audits, ensure compliance, track findings, and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Perform data analysis on quality metrics (FPY, scrap, defects, customer returns) to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Support manufacturing and engineering teams in identifying and resolving quality issues on the shop floor.
  • Interface with customers on quality matters, including handling complaints, providing documentation, and ensuring customer requirements are met.
  • Develop inspection methods and measurement techniques, including first-article inspections, gauge R&R, and calibration support.
  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI) to ensure quality requirements, risk assessments (PFMEA), and validation plans are implemented.
  • Ensure regulatory, customer, and corporate compliance, including maintaining required certifications and documentation.
  • Train employees on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to drive continuous improvement projects using Lean, Six Sigma, and statistical tools.
  • CMM programming knowledge

Required Experience/Skills/Abilities:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering preferred or relative experience in manufacturing or aerospace mechanical engineering field
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a Manufacturing or Quality Engineering role, with at least 3 years in the Aerospace/Aviation industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant software, quality assurance methods, tools and quality manufacturing processes
