Overview: Join a growing U.S. biotechnology organization that supports a federal initiative in next-generation RNA medicine manufacturing. In this role, you will work alongside the Principal Design Engineer to develop the mechanical design, with ownership of modular architectures, including machine enclosures.
Responsibilities
- The modular enclosure: internal layout for all six subsystems, structural frame and panels, HEPA filtration and positive-pressure control, environmental monitoring provisions, access and egress, and the breakdown into modules.
- Support the fill-finish subsystem integration including aseptic boundaries across interfaces alongside a specialist partner.
- CAD models, 2D manufacturing drawings and bill of materials documents.
- Fabrication, assembly, and verification of the subsystem, including environmental controls and environmental monitoring.
Requirements
- BS or MS in mechanical, mechatronic, or biomedical engineering.
- Five to nine years of hands-on mechanical design of instruments, laboratory automation, process equipment, or medical devices, with delivered products behind them.
- Strong CAD, GD&T, sheet metal, and machined-part design, and drawing production to a controlled standard.
- Cleanroom, isolator, HEPA filtration, and pressure cascade exposure is a strong plus.
- Genuinely hands-on, you will be assembling and fitting this hardware, not only drawing it.
