Responsibilities:
- Tooling Maintenance & Repair: clean, polish, assemble, and repair CNC machined aluminum thermoforming molds, heated plates, plug assists, and high-precision trim tools.
- Manual Machining: safely and accurately operate manual tool room equipment (Bridgeport mills, lathes, surface grinders) to modify, repair, or fabricate tooling components.
- Troubleshooting: partner with the production team to diagnose forming or trimming defects (thinning, webbing, poor cuts) and implement fast, effective tooling fixes.
- Quality & Compliance: inspect and verify tooling tolerances using micrometers, calipers, and indicators to ensure strict compliance with ISO 13485 regulations and medical standards.
- Perform and complete other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Good work ethic and positive attitude.
- Able to follow and understand quality management objectives and manufacturing procedures.
- Must be fluent in English for communicating and reading safety instructions, procedures, and customer orders and parts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Read blueprints & diagrams: ability to interpret engineering drawings, and assembly schematics.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand long periods of time and walk continuously through assigned areas.
- Must be able to lift up to 45lbs.
- Must have full range of motion, bending, reaching, and lifting.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing tool room. Preferably working with thermoforming, injection molding, and stamping designs.
- Understanding of aluminum mold care and match-metal trim alignment preferred. Willing to train the right candidate.
- Experience with CNC programming (G-code, Mastercam) or operating CNC mills to perform minor tool modifications is a bonus.
- Experience working with ISO 13485, FDA-regulated, or cleanroom manufacturing environment a bonus.
