Role Description The Mortgage Loan Officer is responsible for originating residential mortgage loans and guiding clients through the full lending process in a contract, remote role. Day-to-day activities include consulting with prospective borrowers, assessing financial profiles, and recommending suitable loan products. The role involves collecting and reviewing documentation, coordinating with underwriting and processing teams, and ensuring files meet regulatory and lender requirements. The Loan Officer will maintain clear communication with clients, provide status updates, manage pipelines, and support a positive customer experience from application to closing. This position requires proactive business development, including building referral relationships and following up with leads.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Loan Officer with a track record of successful mortgage origination and client relationship management.

  • Knowledge of the Mortgage Industry, including current market trends, regulations, and lender guidelines.

  • Practical expertise in Mortgage Lending processes, including loan structuring, documentation, and compliance.
  • \n

  • Understanding of Underwriting principles and the ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting teams.
  • \n

  • Strong Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and resolve issues promptly.
  • \n

  • Relevant state mortgage loan originator license(s) and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency with loan origination systems, CRM tools, and remote collaboration platforms.
  • \n

  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, organize multiple files, and meet deadlines.
  • \n

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities; sales or business development experience is a plus.
