As an Assembler, you work in a fast-paced production environment where you gather materials from a material list, follow blueprints and assembly drawings to build products, perform pick-and-pack tasks, and carry out basic repair operations. You play a key role in the manufacturing process by assembling products, conducting tests and inspections, and preparing items for shipment. You are cross-trained across multiple stations on the assembly line, ensuring variety in your day and broad exposure to different aspects of the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Work from material lists to accurately gather and stage the correct components and supplies for each product.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and assembly drawings to assemble products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Retrieve products from the conveyor belt and insert or adjust internal linings to meet design requirements.
  • Assemble and install handles, pins, and other hardware onto products using appropriate hand and power tools.
  • Insert foam and other internal materials into products, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
  • Package finished products securely and prepare them for shipment, including labeling and organizing items as needed.
  • Perform pick-and-pack operations to fulfill orders and maintain efficient flow of materials through the assembly area.
  • Carry out basic repair operations on products as directed, using hand and power tools to correct defects or make adjustments.
  • Conduct tests and inspections on assembled products to verify functionality, quality, and adherence to specifications.
  • Rotate between multiple sections of the assembly line throughout the day to support production needs and reduce repetitive tasks.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions accurately to maintain consistent quality and productivity.
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other departments to meet production goals and deadlines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and well-structured work area to support safety and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures when using hand and power tools and working on the assembly line.

Essential Skills

  • Experience using hand tools in a production, assembly, or similar environment.
  • Experience using power tools safely and effectively for assembly and repair tasks.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow verbal instructions from supervisors and team leads.
  • Ability to follow written instructions, including material lists and basic assembly documentation.
  • Capability to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with continuous production flow and rotating tasks.
  • Attention to detail when assembling components, inserting linings and foam, and packaging products.
  • Basic understanding of quality checks, testing, and visual inspection of finished products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Trade school education or technical training related to manufacturing, assembly, or mechanical work (nice to have).
  • Automotive experience, particularly hands-on work with tools and mechanical components (nice to have).
  • Previous assembly experience in a manufacturing or production environment (nice to have).
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or detailed assembly drawings (nice to have).

Work Environment

You work in a clean, organized, and well-lit production facility designed to support safety and efficiency on the assembly line. The environment includes clearly defined workstations where you use hand and power tools, follow material lists, and reference assembly drawings. Multiple shifts are available to fit different schedules, including first shift (approximately 6:00 a.m. 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), second shift (approximately 2:00 p.m. 10:00 p.m., Monday through Friday), and third shift (approximately 10:00 p.m. 6:00 a.m., typically spanning late week and weekend). You are cross-trained across several sections of the assembly process, which keeps the workday varied and engaging rather than repetitive. The facility offers an on-site gym for all employees and maintains a structured, orderly layout that supports smooth material flow and consistent production.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of South Deerfield, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.20/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
