Irrigation and Fertigation Supervisor

The Irrigation and Fertigation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Water Room and ensuring the efficient, continuous (24/7) operation of all related systems. This role collaborates daily with the Cultivation Manager, Propagation Manager, IPM Manager, Mom Room Manager, Cultivation Director, and Director of Propagation to coordinate fertigation strategy and scheduling.

The Supervisor leads the irrigation team, conducts daily briefings with department leads, monitors team performance throughout the day, and provides end-of-day handoffs to ensure continuity across shifts. Daily responsibilities vary based on operational needs and scheduled activities.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

· Supervise irrigation team members; assign and delegate daily and weekly tasks

· Conduct daily check-ins with department leads and team members

· Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols, especially when handling chemicals

· Train leads and technicians on new SOPs and operational procedures

· Develop, update, and maintain departmental SOPs

Water Room Operations

· Oversee all Water Room systems and respond to emergencies (e.g., pump, pipe, or equipment failures)

· Perform multiple system checks daily to ensure proper operation

· Provide after-hours and weekend support for technicians and security staff

· Coordinate emergency response, including on-call availability

Fertigation Management

· Monitor and manage Anderson fertigation systems and programs

· Review pH/EC reports twice daily and adjust systems as needed

· Analyze fertigation data (JotForm and logs) to improve efficiency and workflow

· Review fertigation logs, runoff reports, and test results to ensure proper nutrient delivery

· Mix nutrient stock tanks as required

System Maintenance & Monitoring

· Maintain and monitor:

o Anderson fertigation skids

o Reverse osmosis systems

o UV filtration systems

o Silver Bullet systems

o Condensate return pumps in HVAC units

· Troubleshoot system issues and coordinate with vendors or technicians for repairs

Irrigation & Cultivation Support

· Monitor and maintain flower room irrigation systems

· Review irrigation performance and ensure proper fertigation function

· Plan and execute upgrades and maintenance projects for water and irrigation systems

· Collaborate with the Facilities Department on repairs and improvements

Data & Reporting

· Manage JotForm systems and analyze collected data

· Review Water Room walkthrough and security checklists

· Maintain accurate fertigation and operational records

Inventory & Procurement

· Manage irrigation and nutrient inventory, including weekly nutrient tracking

· Order and maintain stock of parts, supplies, and testing materials

· Coordinate inventory pickups and vendor interactions

Wastewater & Compliance

· Manage wastewater totes, including pickups, drop-offs, and vendor coordination

· Maintain compliance with operational and environmental standards

Security & Communication

· Develop and maintain Water Room security checklists for overnight teams

· Communicate effectively with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues promptly

Physical & Work Requirements

· Ability to work in high heat and humidity

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

· Ability to work on lifts across multiple flower room tiers (light and dark conditions)

· Ability to wear a respirator and Tyvek suit

· Ability to safely handle chemicals

· Strong communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
