Role Overview


The Senior Manager, Biostatistics provides strategic and hands-on statistical leadership for clinical development programs within the neuroscience portfolio. This role involves independent oversight of studies and programs, development of innovative analytical approaches, and contribution to data-driven decision-making throughout the clinical lifecycle. The position plays a key role in advancing clinical strategies and supporting regulatory interactions.


Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery & Strategic Contribution

  • Assume accountability for statistical leadership at the study or program level
  • Guide and influence cross-functional project teams to ensure timely, high-quality delivery
  • Lead complex statistical analyses and trial simulations to improve study design and execution
  • Apply quantitative frameworks to support evidence-based development decisions
  • Contribute to regulatory submissions and responses, including statistical sections and analyses
  • Support program-level planning by identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies

Collaboration & Organizational Impact

  • Partner closely with global project sub-teams such as evidence generation and clinical development
  • Collaborate across quantitative science disciplines and R&D functions
  • Contribute to broader methodological, operational, and strategic initiatives

Core Skills & Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of clinical drug development, study design, analysis methods, and interpretation
  • Strong understanding of regulatory expectations and global standards governing clinical trials
  • Proficiency in statistical programming using SAS and R
  • Ability to design and interpret simulations to support development strategy
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts to non-specialists
  • Demonstrated experience across multiple development phases or therapeutic areas
  • (Neuroscience experience is strongly preferred)
  • Solid project and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional environments

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Advanced degree in statistics, biostatistics, or a related quantitative discipline
  • PhD with approximately 3 or more years of relevant experience, or
  • Master’s degree with approximately 6 or more years of relevant experience

Compensation & Benefits

Estimated Base Salary Range (Boston, MA):

$137,000 – $215,270
