Job DescriptionWhy This Role Matters

Help turn complex prints into repeatable, production‑ready processes. You’ll blend CAM expertise with shop‑floor instincts to launch parts quickly and reliably.

Responsibilities

  • Program from solid models and drawings to create, edit, and optimize CNC code for mills, lathes, and multi‑axis machines
  • Select tools, set speeds/feeds, and define machining strategies for accuracy, finish, and throughput
  • Publish setup sheets, tooling lists, and operator work instructions for clear hand‑offs
  • Run prove‑outs and first articles; adjust code to validate features and tolerances
  • Support machinists during setups and production runs, answering questions and removing roadblocks
  • Troubleshoot cutting issues stemming from tooling, programming, or machine capability
  • Partner with engineering on design for manufacturability and suggest improvements
  • Assist in fixture design and practical workholding solutions
  • Ensure programs comply with machine and tooling safety requirements

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or machinist apprenticeship preferred
  • 3–5+ years of CNC programming experience in a production environment
  • Fluency in G‑code and CNC machine operations
  • Comprehensive knowledge of CNC programming and machining: G‑code; CNC mills and/or lathes; reading engineering drawings; GD tooling; machining principles
  • Evidence of process optimization, quality and print compliance, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement leadership
  • Strong problem‑solving, clear communication, and organized multitasking; collaborative and hands‑on
